- Language & Pedagogy Expertise: Provided experience in language development pedagogy alongside research-backed strategies guiding the team’s instructional methodologies.
- Technology Integration: Helped build the final prototype in EdApp, producing a full sample lesson for leadership review and potential scaling.
- Prototyping & User Testing: Created the Spanish-language prototype and conducted all rounds of user-testing, providing critical feedback for improvement.
- Curriculum Development: Designed and developed the reading and comprehension sections of the curriculum.
Impact
- Informed EnglishConnect’s strategy for serving international learners with limited technological access and varying educational backgrounds.
- Provided researched-backed data and suggestions for teaching novice-low level language learners a new language.
- Provided EnglishConnect user testing data from dozens of testers in six different languages.
BYU-Pathway Missionary Field Support Evaluation
As project manager, I worked with Missionary Field Support director, Nathan Sanders, while guiding our team in evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency, and usability of communication methodologies, training processes, and overall website usability.
Core Responsibilities:
- Communicating progress to stakeholders
- Managing team member responsibilities and progress
- Assisting team members in meeting their individual deadlines
- Conducting user interviews and testing across the globe and analyzing data
Impact
- Improved missionary training, communication methodology, and website usability across 3 major global regions (Southeast Asia, North America, and Africa), directly supporting hundreds of missionaries and those they serve.
Training Simulation for Non-Profit Volunteers
This interactive simulation guides learners through a complex legal software as they prepare to become accredited representatives with the Department of Justice. You can interact directly with the embedded simulation.
Impact
- Increased learners’ abilities to navigate a complex software upon course completion from 0-100.
- Improved scalability for the course and for the non-profit.
- Reduced training load for non-profit leaders.
